It is our great pleasure to announce that
the 2012 Middle East ICOI Congress is going
to be held in Tehran from 16th to 19th
October 2012.
Implantology is growing fast
and making gigantic and incredible progress
every day.
Scientific improvement in the field of
implantology manifests itself in the form of
new academic papers as well as new methods
of treatment for patients. Therefore, one
would best keep abreast of these papers and
methods in order to be constantly aware of
the latest findings in the field. ICOI
Congresses – taking place in many parts of
the world – enjoy excellent reputation, not
least because of their power to gather
together the great figures and celebrated
experts in the field of implant dentistry.
The Middle East ICOI Congress in Tehran
is one of the biggest events of implantology
in the region, with at least 14
international top lecturers attending the
event. These lecturers will cover a variety
of subjects that our colleagues are

Tehran
Tehran is the capital of Iran and is also
Iran"s largest urban area and city, one of
the largest cities in Southern Asia, and the
19th largest city globally. The city is home
to many historic places. Contemporary Tehran
is a modern city featuring many structures,
of which the Azadi (Freedom) Tower and the
Milad Tower have come to be symbols of
Tehran itself. Persian is the city"s native
tongue.
Climate
Tehran features a semi-arid, continental
climate. Summer is usually hot and dry with
very little rain, but relative humidity is
generally low and the nights are cool. The
summers and winters are very dry and the
spring and fall are rather lush. The hottest
month is July (mean minimum temperature
26°C, mean maximum temperature 36°C) and the
coldest is January (mean minimum temperature
−1°C, mean maximum temperature 8°C).
Although compared with other parts of the
country, Tehran enjoys a more moderate
climate; weather conditions can sometimes be
unpredictably harsh.

Shopping
There are many shopping centers in Tehran
but the most popular shopping centers are
Golestan Shopping Center and Tirajeh
Shopping Center & Hyper Star, located in
north-western Tehran, and Tandis Center &
Safavieh Shopping Center, located in
northern Tehran. Almase Iran Shopping
Center, located in eastern Tehran, is also
popular.
Public Transport
Cars: According to the head of Tehran
Municipality"s Environment and Sustainable
Development Office, there are 3 million cars
on the roads in the capital.
Airport: Tehran is served by two
main airports. Mehrabad Airport, which is
located in the Western part of the city.
Imam Khomeini International Airport, located
50 kilometers (31 mi) south of the city,
handles almost all international flights.
Metro:
Tehran Metro has four operative lines and is
120 km long with another two lines under
construction. Tehran has the longest metro
line in the Middle East and currently the
fourth longest in Asia.
Train: Tehran also has a central
train station with connecting services round
the clock to various cities in the country.
Tehran-Europe train line is active.
Bus: Tehran"s transport system includes
conventional buses, trolleybuses and Bus
Rapid Transit (BRT). There are four bus
terminals which are located on the South,
East, West, and Bei-haghi Park-Drive.
